Responsibilities

Tasks

·        Adhere to policies and procedures, as well as job descriptions. All policies are located on

·        sync under program files-policies and procedures.

·        Implement Individual Service Plans as determined and directed by the multidisciplinary

·        team for assigned children and/or adults.

·        Report to supervisors, Behaviour Consultants, administrators, Clinical Supervisors,

·        Program Coordinator, and Human resources.

·        Will be required to work off-site in the community, and school settings, as needed

·        Helping with the training and orientation of new employees

·        Complete administrative tasks and other assigned tasks.

·        Assigned cleaning/organizational tasks.

·        Keep the house clean.

·        Cook meals based on the Canadian food guide.

·        Other assigned tasks as needed.

Essential Job Duties:

Clients

·        Select and apply the appropriate technique, from a short list of strategies used for

·        managing challenging behavior, when required during the implementation of individualized plans

·        Collect data as appropriate to each youth’s Individual Program

·        Prepare materials as directed and needed i.e.: Board maker materials, visual supports, etc.

·        Assist with the planning of each youth’s curriculum, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary

team

·        Monitor the youth’s progress

·        Record and review youth programs with the multidisciplinary team

·        Perform direct care to meet the physical, emotional, behavioral and social needs of

individuals living in residential care. This may include, but is not limited to personal care,

housework, transportation, meal preparation and social activities.

·        Work collaboratively with the RMBA’s Specialized Residential Care team to develop and

implement strategies and plans for individuals that address areas of challenge and facilitate

growth and change through the development of new skills and understanding.

·        Provide individualized support to individuals appropriate to their needs and goals

·        Contribute to the development of a safe and nurturing home-like environment that

supports the physical and emotional safety of each young person

·        Manage challenging behaviors by following behavior support plans and the principles and

procedures of RMBA and MCFD/CLBC.

·        Ensure the dignity of each individual is upheld. Protect and respect the wellbeing of

individuals living in residential care and report any concerns immediately.

·        Ensure individuals’ medications are available, stored and administered correctly

·        Report any changes in the needs of the individual to the Residential Program coordinator

immediately.

·        Equip individuals with a range of skills to support their day-to-day independence

·        Help individuals build community networks for support.

·        Support individuals to access information and experiences that will assist them in

developing a positive sense of identity.

·        Support individuals in participating in decision-making that affects their lives.

·        Provide services that are sensitive to the diversity of individuals, their families and support

network.

·        Support a therapeutic framework to achieve positive outcomes for individuals.

·        Provide specialized support services that comply with the Standards and Policies of the

·        Ministry of Children and Families and Community Living BC.

·        Adherence to individuals’ care plan and Individual Service Plan

·        Help individuals with personal care as needed, working towards independence

·        Cook basic meals following the Canadian food guide

People

·        Complete the onboarding process and all mandatory training

·        Attend and participate in regular supervision, support meetings, and team meetings as required

·        Be a part of creating a team culture of support and respect

·        Commit to a continuing process of ongoing training and skills acquisition

·        Provide supports that reflect RMBA’s values, policies and practices

·        Work collaboratively with other RMBA staff, service providers and families

·        Be a strong ambassador for the RMBA team

·        Identify and recommend opportunities to increase team satisfaction and engagement

·        Complete reports as required and ensure that sensitive client information is kept secure and

·        treated confidentially

·        Complete daily duties and other duties as required by your manager

·        Maintain a knowledge of and follow all mandatory reporting requirements

·        Comply with RMBA’s administrative and financial management procedures

Operations

·        Maintain records and documentation as required

·        Incident forms are completed in a timely manner as per operational procedures

·        Identify improvements that contribute to better outcomes for individuals living in

residences

·        Ensure the reputation and integrity of RMBA is maintained at all times

·        Maintain an understanding of the principles of Person Centred Care and specialized

residential care and work collaboratively with other government and non-government

agencies to ensure the security and care of individuals in residential care Actively

participate in team meetings.

Financials

·        Comply with RMBA’s administrative and financial management procedures

Training:

·        Attending training session as required

·        Complete monthly training

·        Maintaining any required certifications

Reporting:

·        Complete all data collection, paperwork by the end of each shift

·        Complete reports on time according to the report schedule

·        Complete time sheet and hand it on time

·        Reporting and documenting any and all injuries to Human Resources as soon as

possible.

Communication and Administration:

·        Maintain open and regular communication with Parents, Senior Behaviour

·        Interventionist, Behaviour Consultant, Clinical supervisor, Program Coordinator, Coworkers, and Professionals

·        Complete surveys and evaluations as required

·        Complete all applicable administration tasks as required

Other:

·        Will be required to transport children/adults

·        May be required to deal with bodily fluids, toileting routines

·        May be required to wear personal protective equipment

·        May be required to support child/adult in an off-site location to help ensure their

success in other environments

·        Must be flexible and able to adapt to the evolving of programs, the company and job

description

·        Will complete any required training or courses in a timely manner
